The feature phone was useless in most countries because telecom operators in several countries moved out of 2G. HMD Global says that it launched the Nokia 3310 3G after listening to its fans how badly they wanted a 3G version of the iconic feature phone.
The Nokia 3310 3G comes in two different colours- Azure and Charcoal hues, all with a matte finish and new silver keypads. The Nokia 3310 3G will also be available in Yellow and Warm Red colours, same as the standard Nokia 3310. With fresh new colours, HMD Global also tweaked the user interface to match the colour of the device. Nokia is also introducing all-new Retro UI with which you can customise the UI.
The Nokia 3310 3G version will be available in more countries than the standard Nokia 3310. And yes, it still has Snake says HMD Global proudly. The technical specifications of the feature phone are still the same, apart from the added 3G connectivity support.
The feature phone has a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The Nokia 3310 3G is also a dual-SIM supported smartphone, and there’s a single SIM variant of the device as well. It has support for Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a micro USB port for charging the device. The Nokia 3310 3G version comes with bumped up storage of 64MB, and also accepts microSD cards up to 32GB.
The battery in the new Nokia 3310 3G variant is still the same as the standard Nokia 3310 at 1200mAh. HMD promises that the new variant will deliver up to 6.5 hours of maximum talk time, up to 24 days of standby time, up to 40 hours of MP3 playback time, and up to 35 hours of FM Radio playback. The phone also has a 2MP camera at the back, which is also paired with an LED flash.
Coming to the availability of the Nokia 3310 3G, it will be made available starting mid-October. However, the Indian availability is yet to be announced by the company. This new 3G variant of the Nokia 3310 is priced at €69 (approx. Rs. 5,400). The device might be priced at Rs. 3,999 in the Indian market, because the 2G variant is priced at Rs. 3310.
